About Personal Preparedness LLC
Our Story
At Personal Preparedness LLC, we believe everyone should be prepared for what worries them.
Potential hazards such as natural disasters, wild fires, civil unrest, supply chain breakdowns, pandemics, hazardous materials leaks, terrorism, nuclear disasters, and war can cause stress, anxiety, and sleepless nights. If you are worried about these or other hazards affecting you, your loved ones, or your business, we can help. The time to start preparing is now.
Our founder spent 25 years in law enforcement. During that time, he served 10 years on a specialized unit that responded to local, state, and regional disasters and large events. He quickly saw that many citizens, businesses, and local governments were unprepared for what was happening. Recognizing a need, he obtained specialized training in emergency planning, emergency management, and numerous hazards including nuclear, radiological, explosive, chemical, and biological. He obtained a Master’s in Criminal Justice with a concentration in emergency management. When he retired, he started Personal Preparedness, LLC to help under resourced and underprepared entities plan and prepare for disasters.
Our Services
We offer a variety of consulting and advisory services at Personal Preparedness LLC, including individual and family emergency planning, product reviews and insight, business disaster plans, and emergency operations planning for local governments and organizations.
We have training and experience in a wide variety of disaster types including natural, chemical, radiological, explosives, weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and civil unrest.

Innovative Consulting Services
Individuals and Families
Generator Consult – $25 (phone or virtual) – Our generator consult and database now include solar, traditional, and inverter generators. Why spend hours or even days researching generators and backup power on the internet when you can contact us?
We start our generator consults by educating our customer. We explain the differences between traditional, inverter, and solar generators, the advantages and limitations of each type, as well as available options such as home integration, UPS, dual charging and more.
Next, we get to know you and your needs. We discuss why you are purchasing a generator, where you will use it, your budget, the types of devices you plan on operating, and how long you expect to operate without the grid power.
Once we understand your needs, we access our generator database, which includes over 200 generators (solar, traditional, inverter, dual-fuel, and tri-fuel) from over 50 different manufacturers, to help choose the right one, all while staying within your budget. We can even help place your order to ensure you secure the correct model. We do not sell anything and receive no compensation for our recommendations therefore, we will not push you towards any particular style or manufacturer.
Family Emergency Plan Consult – $150 for up 2.5 hours (in person or virtual) – We will sit down with you to discuss:
· What you can expect during and after a disaster including what not to expect from the government’s response
· your family’s specific situation, needs, and concerns
· things to consider and plan for when faced with an emergency (shelter in place vs bugout(leave your location), transportation, rendezvous points, communications, personal safety, and more)
· review what supplies you have and the types of things you should consider
Written Family Emergency Plans – Starting at $400 – After discussing your needs and concerns, we will develop a written family emergency plan that includes an explanation of the threat(s) that concern you, mitigation techniques to address them, and a supply list.
*If you have previously purchased a family emergency consult, the price of that consult, in most circumstances, can be applied towards the cost of the written plan.
Homesteading Assessment and Plan – Starting at $300 (additional cost for mileage and travel may apply) – Own or buying a property and considering homesteading? We will visit the property to assess its viability for homesteading. If viable, we will devise a homesteading plan that addresses food, water, utilities, and energy sources. Vacation Home Bugout Plan – Starting at $400 (additional cost for mileage and travel may apply) – Own a vacation or second home and want to make it your bugout location? We start with a discussion about your family, your current preparedness status, and the situation(s) that would cause you to relocate or “bugout.” Next, we visit the vacation home to assess both the structure and its location. Then we develop a list of supplies and home modifications to help turn your second home into a bugout friendly haven.
Individual Hourly consults (any topic) – $75 an hour – Schedule an hourly consult to discuss the topic of your choice. Examples are nearby hazards (nuclear power plant, chemical plant, railyard, dam), individual threats (storms, civil unrest, dirty bombs, EMPs, economic collapse,) specific supplies and equipment (gas masks, radiation meter, emergency food, energy sources) and more.
Businesses and Organizations
Emergency Procedures and Plans – Call for pricing – An accident or emergency can occur at any time. Do your employees know what to do and who to notify? Be prepared by developing emergency plans and procedures. We start by working with you to identify your most likely hazards. Then we develop step by step response procedures.
Disaster and Crisis Action Plans – Call for pricing – Prepare your business or organization for when disaster strikes. Have a plan to keep your business up and running while you rebuild or recuperate from disaster.
Employee Educational Seminars – Call for pricing – Help your staff prepare for potential disasters at work or their home. We customize these seminars to fit your business sector and your specific concerns. Once the hazards are identified, we will develop the seminar content to include an explanation of the dangers and ways to mitigate the negative effects.
Business Hourly Consults (any topic) – Starting at $100
Local Governments
Emergency Operations Plans – Call for pricing – Too small for an in-house emergency management division? Then let Personal Preparedness develop or update your emergency operations plan. We will work with your personnel to develop a plan customized to your needs and situations.
Outreach Services – Call for pricing – Help prepare your community for disasters by offering outreach in the form of emergency preparedness seminars and hazard specific educational classes.
Emergency Shelter Plans – Call for pricing – When disaster strikes and citizen are left homeless, they will look to their local government for help. You cannot rely on outside shelter organizations to always be available. Be prepared by developing a shelter plan. We will work with your staff to identify possible locations, create a supplies list, and develop operational procedures.
